Marvin and Kayla, supported by their large, but tight-knit tribe of friends and family, tied the knot close to home in Colorado Springs, CO. Their ceremony was held at the Shove Chapel. Afterwards, everyone headed to the stunning Cheyenne Mountain Resort for an epic evening of dinner and dancing at their wedding reception. From start to finish, it was an unforgettable event and Kari Joy Photography did an amazing job showcasing their upbeat and playful love for one another!
FLOWERS & UPLIGHTING
One of the first things that struck us at Marvin and Kayla’s wedding was the abundance of beautiful flowers provided by Rhonda Nichols Flowers. The floral arrangements were absolutely stunning and really brought an extra level of elegance to the event. Our uplighting also added a special touch, giving the space a magical ambiance during dinner and an immersive club-like atmosphere during dancing!
DANCING
Of course, as a DJ my focus was on the music. Marvin and Kayla had chosen Rihanna’s “We Found Love” as their grand entrance song, which was the perfect choice to get the party started, as they found love at Jim’s Bar, their self-proclaimed “hopeless place” in Colorado Springs!
Just after dancing started, the bride squad surprised everyone by dressing up in inflatable animal costumes and rushing the dance floor. Not even Marvin knew what was coming! It was a unique element that truly expressed the couples playful love for each other.
Throughout the evening, I played a mix of upbeat pop, classic rock, country, and hip-hop that kept everyone moving and grooving all night long. It was clear that Marvin, Kayla, and their guests enjoyed a night together they’ll never forget.
PHOTO BOOTH
To add to their entertainment, we brought our super-fun photo booth! Guests lined up all night long grabbing wild hats, boas, glasses and props before snapping carefree and hilarious pictures. Every guest received two copies of each photo strip, one for them to keep, and the other to place in our unique photo booth guestbook where they could leave a nice message for the newlyweds.
DESSERTS & MORE
A surprising and unique addition to their wedding came in the form of a candy bar! Personally, we’ve never seen this at a wedding before and thought it was such a great idea for candy lovers! They also had a dessert table with a beautiful cake and plenty of sweet treats to keep their guests dancing all night long!
Overall, Marvin and Kayla’s wedding was one to remember. The beautiful setting, the stunning decor, and the infectious energy of the guests all came together to create an unforgettable celebration. It was an honor to be a part of their special day and to help create memories that they will cherish for a lifetime.
